Vintage Vibes- Bedroom transformation - Bergen County interior designer

I am so excited to share this bedroom transformation: I am calling this project “Vintage Vibes” and I think you will see why as you go through the photos of the space.

This was a little bit of a tricky space between of the placement of the windows in the room. They are low and they aren’t symmetrical but that didn’t prevent us from maximizing the space and incorporating lots of textures.

Here is where we started with the room when I met my clients.

The rug really set the tone for the room and I love how it is paired with the vintage bench at the end of the bed.

On the other side of the room features a beautiful blue dresser with brass hardware.

We have an arched mirror on the side wall - such a pretty reflection!

I love seeing how the space is transformed from where we started!

From NYC to Bergen County- Project Reveal - Ridgewood interior designer

My clients first contacted me last October when they were in the process of buying their first home in Bergen County after living in NYC with their young kids. The home they were purchasing did not need any construction / renovation right away but they needed help with furnishing and decorating. Because they were coming from a NYC apartment that was smaller than this new house, we were starting from scratch for the whole first floor. I am so happy that everything is finally installed and we had our photo shoot last week. Come take a tour!

Let’s start with the entryway - I love this console table paired with the round mirror and if you look closely there is a fun woven strap detail on the mirror.

As you can see in th e mirror, the opposite wall is a bench with hooks as a drop zone for the family and guests.

Next you walk into an open space which is the main family room of the home. We added built-ins on the one side of the TV to hide some of the electronics related to the TV and it gave us an opportunity to add some decor.

The round coffee table is very kid friendly but also so pretty!

There is a console table behind the sofa which was a perfect spot to display family photos.

You can see from some of the earlier photos that the dining room is part of this big open space.

The art has such a beautiful texture and pairs so well with the new light fixture.

The office is another space that we worked on and I love that my client’s husband wanted to go bold with the walls in here!

I wish I had a better “before” photo but it was basically an empty room :)

Project Reveal -Baby Boy Nursery - Glen Rock NJ designer - Ackerman Home Project

If you follow me on Instagram, you got a preview this week of this sweet nursery at my #ackermanhomeproject that we just wrapped up and photographed! We started working on this project in the spring and we worked on several spaces in the home including this nursery, my clients’ bedroom, living room, home office and kitchen/dining room.

Today’s post will share all of the details of this baby boy’s nursery. This wall features a gorgeous dresser that will be used as a changing table and grow with the baby as he gets older. I love how the pom poms of the drapes coordinate with the color of the dresser. And how adorable are these large scale animal prints?!

Here you can see the rocking horse that is a family heirloom and fits perfectly in front of the windows.

The glider is comfortable and stylish!

The wallpaper accent wall is so much fun! I love the contrast of it against the white crib and mobile. We also feature a personalized name embroidery piece of art.

The bookshelves are already filled with books ready for this baby boy!
