How to decorate kitchen shelves - Bergen County interior designer

I remember back when I was planning my own kitchen renovation, I had open shelving on my “must-have” list (along with a wall of windows, marble countertops, inset cabinets, hardwood floors and a deep sink). It’s been 6 years now and I have absolutely no regrets about any decision that we made. And I really love to play around with what I display on the shelves. I am always on the lookout for some pretty and functional pieces. Here is our current look:

I find that many clients tell me they get overwhelmed by the thought of decorating shelves or finding things to put on their countertops. Most of the items that I have on there are still currently out there on various sites so I rounded them up for you to shop the look.

Kitchen Styling Made Simple! My Favorite Things!

I love open shelving in kitchens to display pretty things but it can be overwhelming for some people to figure out what looks good for all to see. It’s also lovely to have some decor on countertops - just a simple vase makes a big impact.

Below I compiled a shopping grid of some of my favorite decor items for the kitchen. If you look closely, you will see that many of the items appear in my own kitchen as well as in client projects seen below,

I love real stems and greenery in the kitchen but there are some great faux options out there now as well.
