New Kitchen in Bergen County NJ - interior designer

I love when clients already have an idea of what they are looking for when it comes to their kitchen so that I can help them tie it all together. This particular client knows that she wants tile flooring instead of hardwood and wants Quartz countertops rather than marble. She also loves the idea of a navy island with white perimeter cabinets.

Bergen County decorator- which option would you pick?

I am working on a small job for a foyer refresh with my client in Bergen County and she loved the console table that I recommended. Now we need to decide on the art above the table and the rug. I presented both of these options- which would you pick? I’m so curious to see which is the more popular choice!

Foyer Tile Inspiration - Northern NJ interior designer

I recently met with a client who is doing a massive renovation and addition on her Bergen County NJ home. We had a consultation to discuss ideas for the kitchen and how it relates to the other rooms on the first floor. One of the spaces included the foyer which will be tile instead of hardwood.  The rooms that are directly next to the foyer will be hardwood so it is important to select a tile that will coordinate well with the wood.  This meant not picking a tile that looks like wood as well as any tile that has the same brown tones as the wood.  I think grey slate like tile is a great option that is classic and neutral.  To make it a little more interesting I suggested laying it out in a herringbone pattern and doing light walls to really make the foyer light and airy. 

When I got home I pulled up some inspiration photos to show my client what I type of look I was envisioning and I can't wait to see her home transformed over the next few months!

Bergen County interior designer "Things I Love!"

One of my favorite online stores is School House; I love their style especially their light fixtures and hardware.  They also have pretty awesome clocks too :)  Pretty much, if you know me and are looking for an idea for my birthday, a School House gift card would be pretty high up on my wish-list!!

Today I want to share a couple of my favorite things that I love about this amazing store.

1. This kitchen!!
I'm loving the open shelving and how it is styled in such a practical but still pretty way!  The pendant over the sink is adorable and the subway tile is perfection. And see, it's ok to mix metals too!

2. This Dining Room!

I'm obsessed with this rug! I may have to save up for it in my own dining room.  I love how it really anchors the room and goes so perfectly with the chairs. It's called the Cable Wool Rug - Gray Heather.  The pendant is so perfect and understated. I'd love to be invited for dinner in this dining room :)
