How do you decide what to hang on the wall in your home?  This can be such a challenge for many people but I feel like art on the wall is what makes a house a home. I really like when I can select art that has meaning. For example, in my dining room I chose this vintage map of Paris because after college I had the opportunity to live and work in Paris and it has become my favorite city and my all around happy place :)  We have taken our daughters to Paris twice so far and they love it too so having the map in our home means a lot to our whole family and brings back memories of our time spent there.

Dining Room Design- NJ interior Designer in Wyckoff

Today I am sharing a little sneak peek of a dining room wainscotting and painting project that has been going on this past week.  I am obsessed with how it came out and can't wait to finish the room and photograph it to share. It's amazing how just some paint and woodworking details can completely change a room. 

I was inspired by the wainscotting in this photo and so this is what I showed my amazing carpenter. He did a wonderful job creating it for the dining room exactly how I envisioned it:

Interior Designer Wyckoff NJ

Happy Spring!!  I can't believe how yesterday the kids were playing outside with their cousins before Easter dinner and today we woke up to a winter wonderland of SNOW!  Hopefully these few inches will melt quickly. I am so ready for the warm weather!! 

Aren't my Easter tulips so lovely?! They gave me a nice peek of spring on this cold day as I was working in my kitchen.  Stay tuned for more updates! My latest projects include a foyer makeover as well as a gender neutral nursery.  And pretty soon all of the items will be delivered to my clients Master Bedroom and Sitting Room so I will be able to share photos of both of those projects in the coming weeks!

I loved working on this cozy sitting room for my client this month and can't wait to show you the before/after photos once everything has been delivered to her home.  She wanted a warm, stylish and kid-friendly space and I am so excited to see it all come together. 
 

How does the Interior Design Process Work?
If you need help with re-doing a room in your house, the first step is to contact me to set up a consultation. I will ask you to send me some photos in advance and I have a questionnaire form as well so that I can get a sense of your needs and goals for the project.  Then I come to your home (my travel area is 45 minutes from Wyckoff NJ so that includes towns such as Montclair, Westfield, Morristown, Glen Ridge, Summit as well as anywhere in Bergen County, Morris County).  During the consultation we will discuss improvements that can be made, ideas for furniture and art as well as paint colors.  We will look at photos of rooms to get a better idea of what you are drawn to and make a list of what is needed.

After the consultation is where the fun starts! I start shopping for what you need and will stick to the budget that you gave me, to come up with an idea board to show you.  Once we narrow down the initial ideas of the idea board then I can proceed to create the complete design plan and floor plan. 

Once everything arrives I will come back to your home to help with finishing touches and the photo shoot :)
